As Area Lead, you’ll play a key senior leadership role in driving performance, capability and customer excellence across a group of One NZ retail stores within the Top of the South and Christchurch region. Covering Richmond, Nelson, Blenheim, Rangiora, Northlands, The Palms, Hornby, Cashel Street and Riccarton, this role is about leading through others to create clarity, lift standards and deliver consistent commercial and customer outcomes across the area.

 

You’ll be responsible for driving exceptional performance in your own store while coaching, supporting and enabling Retail Leads across your area to succeed. Through strong leadership, clear performance focus and consistent follow-through, you’ll help build capable, confident leaders who create unforgettable retail experiences for our customers and teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a broader leadership role across a diverse and growing area, including the opening of our new store at The Palms on 16 July.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

 

  • Deliver against key performance metrics for their own retail store, including sales, margin, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
  • Provide hands-on coaching, guidance and support to the Retail Leads in their area, empowering them to effectively manage their teams and stores.
  • Monitor and drive consistent QSA (Quality of Service Audit) performance across the area, identifying and addressing any gaps.
  • Oversee the completion of the Balanced Scorecard for each store in the area on a monthly basis, collaborating with Retail Leads to achieve targets.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow sales, operational efficiency, and team performance across the area.
  • Partner closely with the Market Lead to align on the overall omni-channel strategy and drive consistent brand standards.

  • Exceptional people leadership skills, with the ability to coach, develop and motivate teams
  • Deep understanding of retail operations, customer service, and commercial drivers

  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities to work effectively cross-functionally
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
