Ko tō tūranga – your role

As AWS Platform Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping the technology that powers One NZ’s customer experience across contact centre, AI, and cloud-based channels. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of innovation, turning business needs into secure, scalable, production-ready solutions using Amazon Connect, AWS services, APIs, Python, Terraform, and DevOps practices.

 

You will work across enterprise data platforms, conversational IVR, AI-powered journeys, and CCaaS solutions to deliver frictionless, personalised, and AI-enhanced experiences for customers. This role will suit someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building modern cloud-native solutions, and making a visible impact through technology that improves both customer experience and operational outcomes.

 

Please note this is a 12-month Fixed Term contract.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Design and deliver scalable contact centre solutions across voice, messaging, and AI-driven customer journeys
  • Translate business needs into clear, production-ready technical designs and solutions
  • Build secure, maintainable solutions aligned to architecture, privacy, and quality standards
  • Develop and deploy AWS-based solutions using Lambda, APIs, event-driven services, Terraform, CI/CD, and Python
  • Integrate CRM, digital, and enterprise systems through APIs and services
  • Design and support AI and automation capabilities, including conversational channels, prompt design, guardrails, and intelligent routing
  • Own production performance through monitoring, troubleshooting, optimisation, and strong release and support readiness, while sharing knowledge across the team

Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

  • Hands-on experience delivering customer-facing technology solutions in contact centre or CCaaS environments, ideally integrated with CRM and AI services
  • Strong practical knowledge of Amazon Connect, AWS services, serverless technologies, APIs, and cloud-native architecture patterns
  • Proficiency in Python or a similar language, with experience building and integrating scalable solutions
  • Experience with Amazon Connect contact flows, Lambda integrations, routing logic, and analytics
  • Understanding of AI-enabled customer experiences, including conversational IVR, prompt design, guardrails, and intelligent routing
  • Strong understanding of contact centre operations and the customer journeys they support
  • Pragmatic, resilient, and delivery-focused, with a strong ownership mindset and a passion for simplification, automation, and customer-centric design
