Ko tō tūranga – your role
As Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving profitable growth for One New Zealand by winning new Mid-Market and Enterprise customers through strategic prospecting, consultative selling, and executive engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to build a strong pipeline of new business, position innovative technology solutions that solve real customer challenges, and make a real impact by growing market share and creating long-term customer relationships.
You will be the trusted partner customers turn to for insight, commercial value, and technology-led solutions, working across the full sales cycle from opportunity creation through to close. The role will suit someone who thrives on hunting for new business, building executive relationships, and turning opportunities into commercially successful outcomes.
Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do
- Identify and win new Mid-Market and Enterprise customers through proactive prospecting, networking, and targeted business development
- Develop and execute territory and account plans to build a strong pipeline and convert new business opportunities
- Lead the full sales cycle, engaging executive stakeholders to position solutions that solve customer challenges
- Drive growth across Mobile, Connectivity, Cloud, Security, and ICT solutions in collaboration with Presales, Marketing, and Partner teams
- Maintain strong pipeline, forecasting, and CRM discipline, while monitoring market trends and competitive activity
- Build trusted executive relationships that position One NZ as the preferred technology partner and support long-term growth
Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring
- Proven success in new business acquisition within Mid-Market and Enterprise segments
- Strong prospecting, pipeline generation, and opportunity qualification skills, with a hunter mindset
- Confident engaging, influencing, and negotiating with senior decision-makers and C-suite stakeholders
- Experience managing complex, consultative sales cycles from initial engagement through to close
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to build proposals, business cases, and commercially sound outcomes
- Knowledge of telecommunications and ICT solutions, including Mobile, Connectivity, Cloud, Security, and Unified Communications
- Strong relationship-building, presentation, and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach to solving business challenges
- Highly self-motivated, resilient, and results-oriented, with strong planning, forecasting, and CRM discipline
- Experience working collaboratively across sales, presales, marketing, and partner teams
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, or a related discipline is desirable
