Ko tō tūranga – your role
As a Category Consultant in our Procurement team, you’ll be part of the strategic force supporting smarter spending, stronger supplier relationships and risk-based contracts that drive real business impact. You’ll support driving value across your assigned categories — bringing commercial insights, supply market intelligence, and procurement expertise to key decisions.
In this role, you’ll contribute to category strategies, champion right-sized sourcing, and ensure procurement activities align with our priorities, delivers exceptional outcomes, and moves the organisation forward. Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do
- Support the delivery of category and sourcing strategies to drive cost efficiency, value, and supplier performance.
- Manage sourcing activities, negotiations, and support management of supplier relationships in line with procurement policies and governance.
- Provide contract and commercial insights and supply market analysis to inform procurement decisions and identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure contracted compliance and alignment with risk, sustainability and ethical sourcing standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and standardisation of procurement processes and tools.

- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or related field.
- Be a problem solver, having a natural ability to work through complex problems with sound commercial nous.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical capability, and eagerness to learn and continue to develop your career and knowledge.
- Proven understanding of procurement principles and sourcing processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with procurement systems.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a focus on accuracy and service.
