Ko tō tūranga – your role

As the Cyber Risk and Compliance Manager your role is to lead the Cyber Risk and Compliance team, ensuring effective management of cyber risk, regulatory compliance, and security assurance across One New Zealand. You will drive the identification, assessment, and mitigation of cyber risks, oversee audit and assurance activities, and lead the uplift of cyber security frameworks and policies. This role combines people leadership with deep technical and regulatory expertise, enabling you to influence stakeholders, strengthen security posture, and embed best practice across the organisation.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

• Lead the identification, assessment, and management of cyber security risks, maintaining the enterprise risk register and delivering clear reporting to senior stakeholders
• Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing testing of security controls aligned to frameworks such as NIST CSF
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., PCI DSS), managing internal and external audits and driving timely remediation of findings
• Own and uplift cyber security policies, standards, and procedures, driving continuous improvement and maturity growth
• Manage third-party cyber risk and lead organisation-wide security awareness and training initiatives
• Partner with business units and governance forums to provide expert advice and strengthen cyber risk and compliance capability
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, managing workload, performance, and day-to-day people leadership responsibilities

Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

• Extensive experience in information security, with strong expertise in cyber risk, compliance, and audit
• Demonstrated leadership capability with experience managing and developing high-performing teams
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST CSF and ISO 27001
• Experience managing regulatory compliance obligations, including standards such as PCI DSS
• Relevant tertiary qualification in information security or a related field
• Auditor qualifications such as ISO 27001 Lead Auditor (or equivalent)
• Professional certifications such as CISM or CISA (desirable)
• Ability to influence stakeholders, drive change, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly
• A strong customer focus and commitment to embedding a customer-obsessed culture
