Ko tō tūranga – your role
Join our AI & Data function as a Data Engineer, you'll collaborate within embedded teams to build cutting-edge data products supporting reporting, analytics, machine learning, and application intelligence across the business. Leveraging tools like Snowflake, DBT, and Databricks, you'll focus on building efficient data pipelines, transformation, and modelling, while ensuring non-functional metrics like performance, cost optimization, productivity, and privacy compliance. Collaborate closely with peers and guide key reporting stakeholders organisation-wide you’ll work on exciting and high profile projects within squad.
Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do
- Design, develop, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines using Snowflake, DBT, and other relevant technologies.
- Implement and follow Kimball methodology for data warehousing and dimensional modelling, ensuring the creation of robust and scalable data models within an agile team.
- Follow SDLC principles around code management, version control, and release pipelines via CI / CD process.
- Champion best practice and share your knowledge in the analytical engineering space across the organization.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, cloud platforms, automation testing, and recommend innovative solutions to improve data processing capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring
- At least 5 years in data engineering/data warehousing environments.
- Experience in on-premise and cloud environments, ideally AWS and/or Azure.
- Experience using Snowflake & DBT
- Strong knowledge of data engineering principles within SQL environments and within programming environments.
- Experience working with large volumes of information covering relational, dimensional, and non-structured data working in complex enterprise environments.
- Understanding of Kimball methodologies and ideally experience working in a Scrum environment.
