Ko tō tūranga – your role

The Delivery Lead is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of products or services. As a Delivery Lead, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and aligning cross-functional teams, managing delivery cycles, and ensuring successful delivery of projects or initiatives. Your focus will be on driving efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction throughout the delivery process. 

 

Your primary role is Delivery Lead; depending on the assessment of the execution method for the work to be completed you will be asked to fulfil a role of:

 

  • Tribe Delivery Lead – Delivery of Tribe backlog of many initiatives
  • Squad Delivery Lead – Delivery of a specific complex initiative within a Tribe
  • Initiative Delivery Lead – Delivery of one of many specific initiative(s) outside of the Tribe and Squad structure

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery process, ensuring initiatives are delivered within budget, and according to defined quality standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to agree scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain the delivery process to agreed delivery plan, and resource allocation.
  • Manage the internal and external dependencies for all work within a Tribe, Squad or Initiative.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, testers, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment towards outcomes.
  • Ensure tasks and responsibilities are assigned and monitor individual and team performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Establish strong relationships with stakeholders and ensure involvement throughout the entire lifecycle of the agreed initiative or backlog
  • Act as a point of contact for escalations, issues, and feedback, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, identify areas for service enhancement, and implement appropriate measures.
  • Analyse delivery metrics and performance indicators, identify trends and areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and learning within the delivery team and Chapters/COE, encouraging the adoption of best practices and emerging trends.

  • Highly motivated individual with a strong delivery focus, an eye for detail, and a track record of success in an enterprise setting.
  • Ability to be well-organised with finger on the pulse without feeling the need to be ‘in control’.
  • Minimum 4 years product development / project experience, with at least 2 years leading teams with competence in team coaching, facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience of ability to understand when to follow a lean, kanban, scrum, or phased delivery methodology.
  • Track record of working well with stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.
  • Competence in facilitating team activities, dealing with complicated issues such as team quarterly planning.
  • Ability to detect tension and skills to handle it before it is an issue.
  • Track record of guiding teams to continually improve.
  • Demonstrated experience of situational leadership, knowing when to be hands off, supportive, or directive.
