Ko tō tūranga – your role
As the Financial Accounting Lead - Revenue you will lead and develop the financial accounting revenue team, providing coaching and guidance supporting the team as you overseeing the revenue accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition, balance sheet position and maintaining compliance with associated One NZ Policies and External Reporting standards.
You will also role plays a critical part in leading out the Audit and supporting the company’s financial integrity by ensuring robust control environment is in place and that processes are optimised in the revenue and margin space to mitigate risk and enhance efficiency.
This would be a perfect opportunity for someone with strong technical accounting experience looking to break into a commercial role.
Please note this is a 12 month contract.
Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do
- Lead and develop the financial accounting revenue team, providing coaching, guidance and performance feedback to foster continuous development.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes in the revenue and margin space in compliance with all relevant financial reporting regulations and policies.
- Manage external auditor relationship and audit processes.
- Provide accounting treatment guidance for business cases and product launches/changes to ensure compliance and minimise risk of surprises.
- Ensuring integrity and completeness of monthly general ledger postings, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Establish and maintain robust internal control procedures in revenue financial accounting space to safeguard company assets.
- Evaluate, implement and optimise financial systems and processes (including through use of AI) to streamline operations and improve controls/accuracy.
- Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself, your team and our people.
Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring
- 5+ years financial accounting experience
- Big 4 experience with large company and/or Telco industry
- Strong technical accounting skills including a working knowledge of IFRS 9 & 15 and its business application.
- Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills and ability to work through and understand complex process flows, systems and changes management.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong understanding of systems, change management and process improvement.
- Capacity to reimagine and redesign processes to optimize performance and achieve strategic goals.
- Experience managing and developing people.
- Effective stakeholder communications and ability to work collaboratively.
- Chartered Accountant qualification or similar.
