Ko tō tūranga – your role

As our HSW Advisor you will champion the health, safety, and wellbeing of our people at One NZ, ensuring a safe and supportive workplace for all.

 

By proactively monitoring incidents, facilitating compliance, and delivering key initiatives—from wellbeing events and vaccinations to ergonomic assessments—this role provides vital oversight and coordination. Through accurate reporting, committee support, and robust communication, it enables a workplace culture where wellbeing is prioritised, operational risks are managed, and everyone is empowered to thrive.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Monitor, review, and follow up on all incidents and injuries in Donesafe, ensuring timely escalation, wellbeing checks, and complete documentation.
  • Prepare and distribute regular HSW reports and dashboards, including Board updates,
  •  and internal performance metrics.
  • Coordination of HSW Programs and Initiatives, lead the execution of programs such as flu vaccinations, ergonomic assessments, and wellbeing events, ensuring high participation and effective delivery.
  • Assist with external and internal audits, maintain corrective action trackers, and ensure One NZ and EonFibre sites meet compliance standards.
  • Training and Certification Oversight for First Aider and Health & Safety Representative training schedules, records, and certifications to maintain workforce readiness.
  • HSW Committee and Meeting Support - Act as secretary for the HSW Committee, manage meeting logistics, record minutes, and track action items to completion.
  • Monitor and respond to the central HSW inbox, triage incoming reports, and maintain the HSW SharePoint site to ensure timely and accurate communication.

Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

  • Proven work experience from a similar role either in Health & Safety, Human Recourses or a heavily compliance based role.
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in an environment where you must apply legislation, codes of practice and industry standards to meet guidelines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in H&S through work experience and/or education.
  • Strong communication skills, an ability to translate information into digestible content for a wide audience through verbal presentation or creative content creation.
  • Demonstratable experience streamlining and improving processes along with using AI tools to improve outcome.
  • Proven analytical skills and attention to detail.
