Ko tō tūranga – your role

As the Solution Engineer your role is to design, build and deliver end-to-end technical solutions that support One NZ’s Network Intelligence and Automation roadmap and Autonomous Network Architecture. You’ll shape scalable, secure and commercially sound solutions from concept through to go-live, translating business and product requirements into practical designs that enable intelligent, data-driven network operations, automation and service innovation.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Design and implement technical solutions supporting the NIA roadmap, platforms and products.
  • Translate business, product and technical requirements into detailed solution designs and specifications.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, technology roadmaps and security standards.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout implementation, integration and operational readiness.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Architecture and vendors to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Design integrations across OSS/BSS platforms, network domains, APIs and automation frameworks.
  • Develop reusable automation components, integration patterns and platform standards.
  • Identify and manage technical risks, issues and dependencies across delivery.
  • Build performance, resilience, security, observability and operability into solution designs.
  • Own solutions from inception through to go-live and support successful business outcomes.

Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

  • Experience as a Solution Engineer, Technical Lead or Solution Designer in a complex technology environment.
  • Proven delivery experience across telecommunications, OSS/BSS, network or automation solutions.
  • Strong end-to-end solution design knowledge across platforms, APIs, integrations and data flows.
  • Experience with OSS platforms, orchestration, assurance, fulfilment or service operations.
  • Understanding of telecommunications architecture and OSS/BSS integration.
  • Working knowledge of 4G, 5G and cloud-native network functions.
  • Experience with API-led, event-driven and modern digital architectures.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Ansible, Kubernetes, Kafka, Camunda or TM Forum Open APIs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing, communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Experience using automation, scripting or AI tools to improve engineering outcomes.
