Ko tō tūranga – your role

As a Principal Architect, you will play a key role in providing technical leadership to translate business outcomes into technology roadmaps and solutions for our Digital, Channels, and Integration capabilities. You'll lead the architecture for your domain, acting as an authority and subject matter expert across the organization. In this role you will be spearheading exciting and ambitious transformation programs of our technology systems that will create meaningful and seamless experiences for our people and our customers.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Take ownership of Online and Digital, Channel, and Integration capabilities and architecture, defining current and future state technology roadmaps aligned with business strategies.
  • Drive the overall architecture for your domain, including defining current state assessments, future state models, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
  • Lead structured decision-making processes and ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand requirements, communicate roadmaps and visions, and ensure buy-in and support for all deliverables.
  • Provide architecture leadership for selected Tribes and programs, supporting solution designs, and assisting with production incidents and changes.
  • Lead a virtual team of domain and solution architects, providing coaching, mentoring, and growth opportunities to ensure delivery requirements are met.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, navigate complex requirements, and collaborate effectively across teams and key stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for interaction at all levels, from detailed technical discussions to strategic engagements with executive sponsors.
  • Experience with systems integration, information security, and emerging technologies.
  • Extensive experience in digital technologies, integration patterns, retail business processes and DevOps methodologies.
  • Proficiency in relevant programming languages, microservices architectures, API gateways, and cloud technologies is required.
  • A relevant degree in Software or Engineering is preferred, along with certifications in frameworks such as TM Forum and TOGAF.
