Ko tō tūranga – your role

As the Process Automation Engineer, your role is to design, develop and maintain advanced automation solutions that improve efficiency, reduce manual effort and enhance customer and employee experiences across One NZ. You’ll take ownership of end-to-end automation delivery, from process discovery and solution design through to deployment and monitoring, using UiPath Automation Cloud and complementary automation technologies. You’ll also help scale our automation capability by applying emerging AI and agentic capabilities, providing technical leadership and partnering with business and technology stakeholders to maximise adoption and value.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Design, build, test and deploy enterprise-grade automation solutions using UiPath and related tools.
  • Apply emerging UiPath capabilities including Agentic workflows, Document Understanding, AI Center and Task Mining.
  • Lead process assessments and create scalable, reusable automation solution designs and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI/ML and agentic automation to improve business outcomes.
  • Monitor deployed automations, resolve incidents and optimise performance using analytics and telemetry.
  • Uphold automation standards, coding practices, version control, security, privacy and audit requirements.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, architects and engineers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Mentor junior automation engineers, share knowledge and contribute to automation capability uplift across One NZ.
  • Stay current with emerging automation, AI and platform capabilities and apply relevant innovations to our solutions.

Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

  • Strong hands-on experience developing solutions in UiPath, including Studio and Orchestrator.
  • Experience with UiPath AI Center, Document Understanding, Task Mining and Agentic/Autopilot capabilities.
  • Knowledge of complementary automation technologies such as Power Automate, AWS Step Functions or iPaaS platforms.
  • Proficiency in C#, VB.NET, Python, PowerShell or SQL for custom integrations.
  • Strong solution design skills, with the ability to map and assess complex processes for scalability and resilience.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex automation challenges.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and contributing to capability building.
  • A strong commitment to continuous learning across automation and AI.
