Ko tō tūranga – your role
As a Procurement Category Manager, you will play an important role in helping One New Zealand deliver commercial value through effective sourcing, supplier management, and procurement support across key categories.
Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will help identify opportunities, manage supplier and contract risks, and support commercially sound decisions that align with business goals and procurement policy. This is an opportunity for a capable procurement professional to build strong partnerships, influence outcomes, and make a visible impact across the organisation.
You will contribute to sourcing initiatives, contract renewals, supplier onboarding, and ongoing supplier governance, while providing practical procurement advice that balances value, risk, and compliance. The role will suit someone who enjoys working collaboratively, analysing commercial information, and supporting negotiations and decision-making in a structured, fast-paced environment.
Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do
- Support sourcing activities, contract renewals, and supplier onboarding within assigned categories.
- Review supplier contracts and spend data to identify commercial opportunities and risks.
- Contribute to negotiations and provide procurement recommendations in line with policy and governance requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (Legal, Risk, Finance, Privacy) to ensure appropriate contract controls and risk mitigation.
- Support delivery of agreed savings and value targets within assigned categories.
- Maintain effective supplier governance and stakeholder relationships.

- Strong understanding of procurement principles and sourcing processes.
- Experience supporting contract negotiations and supplier engagements.
- Ability to analyse commercial data and contractual information to form practical recommendations.
- Sound contract interpretation capability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within structured governance frameworks.
- Developed communication skills with the ability to exchange complex commercial information.
- Collaborative working style and ability to influence within established decision-making frameworks.
