Ko tō tūranga – your role

The Senior Commercial Lead serves as a strategic partner within a dedicated business unit, combining deep vertical expertise with strong financial acumen to drive business insights and value creation. Working closely with GM’s, this role is pivotal in steering performance across sales, revenue, and cost management, ensuring channel productivity and cost efficiency targets are consistently met or exceeded.

 

This role is responsible for delivering measurable outcomes by leveraging data-driven insights to optimize financial performance and maximize return. Through close collaboration with cross-functional teams and aligning commercial strategy with financial objectives, you will enable the business unit to make informed decisions that drive operational efficiency and long-term value, serving as a key driver of business performance and commercial success.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Commercial analysis and financial leadership (sales & revenue targets and Opex budgets)
  • Proactively using data and insights to identify opportunities to improve operational performance.
  • Support and Lead execution of initiatives to deliver outcomes.
  • Optimise all channel activities toward the achievement of One NZ’s strategies.
  • Accurately scope and size improvement opportunities including size, scope and mix of channels, overall partner, and commercial models.
  • Provide commercial leadership of all third-party distribution agreements to ensure One NZ’s strategy is delivered.
  • Take the lead on the development of business cases and tracking of benefit realisation.

Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

  • Significant commercial experience, ideally gained from a Finance Manager / Commercial Business Partner or relevant commercial role.
  • Proven experience driving commercial outcomes resulting in efficiency and cost saving.
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder engagement experience, able to influence at all levels of the organization and drive outcomes while inspiring confidence and trust.
  • Commercial and financial acumen, including an owner's mindset.
