Ko tō tūranga – your role

As a Senior Corporate Finance Analyst you will contribute to maximising One NZ productivity and performance through providing analysis and insights on commercial, financial, and workforce-related metrics. The role has a primary focus on workforce planning and organisational effectiveness, while also supporting broader corporate FP&A activities including financial modelling, forecasting, and business case development.

 

This role is pivotal in maintaining the balance between internal business support expectations and delivery to executive, shareholder, and Board financial reporting commitments. You will engage and influence diverse areas of the business, providing critical analytical support to HR, Finance, and senior leaders.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Work with Shareholders to determine how we will present and monitor business performance.
  • Deliver data analysis, reporting and insights to the HR business partnering team, collaborating with Finance to monitor and manage employment cost and company workforce.
  • Project management of organisational workforce plan to support the delivery of annual budgets and long-range 5-year corporate plan for employment cost and FTE.
  • Creation of data and process templates and tools to support HR business partners and their business stakeholders, including spans & layers analysis, productivity analysis, cost savings analysis and employment cost modelling and forecasting.
  • Provide forward visibility – provide analysis of the labour force dynamics and deep dive to develop insights and optimise commercial HR decisions and outcomes.
  • Support the development of monthly HR metrics including financial and non-financial results. Critical business insights and opportunities analysed and recommended.
  • Support the optimisation of employment cost management with clear accountabilities, governance, and measurement. One source of data and output. Recommend, implement and maintain process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and scenario analysis to support broader corporate FP&A, strategic initiatives, and investment decisions.
  • Support the preparation of business cases and financial analysis for enterprise-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment between strategy, assumptions, and financial outcomes.

  • Timely and accurate performance reporting to commercial business partners, senior Exec, and shareholders
  • Proven experience establishing and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication both verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Finance Degree and formal accounting qualification or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong modelling experience and confidents working with large amounts of Data in Excel along with presenting back in summary form.
