Ko tō tūranga – your role

As the Senior Marketing Specialist, you’ll design, build, and optimise multi-channel automated campaigns while ensuring the Martech ecosystem—data pipelines, journey logic, and integrations—remains robust, scalable, and future-ready.

You’ll start with light-touch platform ownership, growing into deeper involvement in data flow design, platform enhancements, and technical improvements. While tactical decisions sit with MarTech Chapter Leads, your expertise will shape recommendations and champion best practices. Strong SQL skills are a must.

As an AI advocate within the chapter, you’ll identify practical AI opportunities, embed tools into workflows, and drive AI maturity across campaign operations and build processes.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

• Create and deliver omni-channel marketing automation campaigns across email, SMS, push, in-app, and web.
• Ensure flawless execution through rigorous QA and peer review processes.
• Optimise customer journeys—including lifecycle, onboarding, migration, and promotions—using data-driven insights.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and Martech data pipelines for accurate targeting and personalisation.
• Leverage SQL expertise in SFMC and Snowflake for segmentation, diagnostics, QA, and data transformation.
• Keep platforms healthy by managing automations, journeys, triggered sends, data extensions, API connections, and related assets.
• Influence technical design for new data flows, integrations, and platform enhancements.
• Champion AI adoption by identifying automation opportunities and embedding AI tools into daily workflows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Data, Engineering, Architecture, Marketing, CX, and Finance teams to deliver campaigns and improve platforms.
• Mentor and uplift junior team members in marketing automation best practices and AI usage.

Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

• 5+ years in CRM or below-the-line (BTL) marketing with hands-on campaign management.
• 5+ years working in an enterprise environment.
• Strong SQL experience working across SFMC and Snowflake for segmentation, QA, and data transformation.
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, automation logic, segmentation models, and API integrations.
• Experience with Snowflake, Google tools, and personalisation platforms.
• Ability to interpret data, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
• Experience using AI tools to boost workflow efficiency, quality, and speed.
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Experience mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices.
