Ko tō tūranga – your role

As the Technical Product Owner for Digital Platforms (App & Web), you will deliver the strategic development of our digital platforms, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with business needs. You will prioritise and implement core upgrades, enabling teams to deliver features efficiently while promoting engineering best practices.

Additionally, you will manage budgets for cost-effective operations and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative culture. By setting clear goals and providing regular feedback, you will support your team's growth and work with engineering leaders to define the digital roadmap, guiding informed technical decisions to drive the success of our platforms.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

• Oversee core digital platform upgrades to ensure they meet business needs.
• Lead your team in making informed technical choices and prioritizing tasks as well serve as a strong technical voice of reason for your team.
• Work with your team to deliver projects on time and within budget. Handle financial forecasts and actuals for team costs and resourcing.
• Mentor and guide your direct reports, setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and supporting their professional growth.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to define and support the digital engineering roadmap
• Work with other digital teams to identify and provide support where needed.

Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

• Extensive experience in a technical engineering role or similar role.
• Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks relevant to web and mobile development.
• Experience with DevOps practices.
• A background in industries such as Telecom, e-commerce, SaaS or fintech would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of best practices in software quality assurance and security.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Understanding of the latest trends and technologies in digital platforms and software development.
