Ko tō tūranga – your role
As the Unix OpenShift Dev Ops Specialist, you’ll be a technical leader at the heart of One NZ’s Private d Infrastructure environment. Your key responsibilities will be for our Private Cloud OpenShift platforms, covering both IT and Network workloads, both build and operate. You will be experienced in automation tools such as Ansible Automation and be a driver of developing DevOps capability across our onshore and offshore teams. Your expertise in OpenShift and Kubernetes will help us build more reliable, resilient and high-performing infrastructure, all critical to One NZ.
Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do
- Develop and maintain Private Cloud platforms, including Red Hat OpenShift, Ansible Automation and OpenShift Virtualisation.
- Drive automation across OpenShift clusters and technologies, including automated cluster builds and hardware configuration.
- Champion Ansible Automation and promote its use across the wider IT community.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and continual knowledge sharing for Unix engineers onshore and offshore.
- Proactively manage One NZ’s virtual and physical *Nix environments to maintain platform availability and stability.
- Provide technical input into the future design of server-based operating environments.
- Consult with projects to guide and direct technical design.
- Support technology projects to achieve agreed time, cost and quality outcomes.
Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring
- At least 10 years’ Unix operating systems experience and/or a relevant tertiary qualification.
- Recognised expertise across Red Hat technologies including RHEL, OpenShift, Ansible and Virtualisation.
- Excellent OpenShift and Kubernetes capability, with a strong automation mindset.
- Experience with programming and scripting languages, specifically YAML.
- Red Hat OpenShift certifications preferred.
- Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and support a high-performing team.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure and prioritise effectively according to business needs.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective internal and external relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and quality.
