Ko tō tūranga – your role

As a Project Delivery Lead, you are responsible for delivering small to medium-sized projects and supporting key workstreams within larger programmes across One New Zealand’s Enterprise Project Delivery team. You will work across planning, coordination, governance, and delivery to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, you will help drive successful delivery outcomes across infrastructure and technology environments, including complex live operational settings.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Lead the coordination and delivery of projects or project workstreams, ensuring activities are well planned, effectively managed, and delivered to agreed timelines, scope, and quality standards
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, developing a solid understanding of their needs to support successful delivery outcomes
  • Manage project budgets end to end, with full accountability for financial tracking, forecasting, reporting, and ensuring delivery remains aligned to approved funding
  • Proactively manage project change, risks, and issues, ensuring they are identified early, assessed appropriately, and addressed in line with agreed standards and governance requirements
  • Oversee supplier delivery and performance, ensuring partners meet agreed One NZ standards, project expectations, and contractual obligations
  • Contribute to strong project management practice by supporting agreed KPIs and helping improve project tools, processes, methodologies, and ways of working across the wider team

Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in project delivery, ideally across infrastructure, network, or technology environments
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven understanding of core IT, with experience delivering projects across hybrid and multi-vendor environments
  • Experience delivering projects in regulated or government environments
  • Proven ability to manage risks, dependencies, and competing priorities to achieve successful outcomes
  • Experience working in live operational or safety-critical environments
  • Confidence working across complex stakeholder and vendor landscapes
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • Awareness of health and safety requirements in live infrastructure environments is an advantage
